Lovers of earth-based jewelry across the country are awed by Mae Sue Rule Jewelry's use of color and character. Inspired by nature, culture, and beauty, jewelry designer Mae Sue Rule has taken her golden-retirement years by storm. After teaching in the Chicago Public School system for 32 years, Mae Sue found herself, as she says, playing with stones. With a God-given creative eye and passion for art, she began by making one-of-a-kind jewelry for family and friends. When she was asked to create jewelry for the gospel ensemble Spirit, she knew she was embarking upon a second career.

Mae Sue has a deep love for her people and has always embraced African culture in her personal and professional lives. Sparked from within and fueled by a trip to West Africa, this love is the imprint and impetus for her designs.
